If Opportunity Doesn’t Knock, Build A Door
Hello, my name is Elise Whitelock and I am a 18-year-old broad range photographer based in Melbourne, Victoria.
My photography journey started the day I took my first photo on my parents’ phone, I believe I was around the age of 7. I instantly fell in love with it.
I think the first idea that I was able to gather from photography was that I had the ability to capture something I found beautiful and freeze it in time, allowing others to see the beauty I saw, whenever they wanted.
Years went by and I never stopped taking photos, it had become a hobby of mine but not one of those hobbies that only interest you for a few months or years, it was one of those hobbies that stuck, a hobby that I was never going to let slip away. As I grew older, my love for photography grew with me, I did whatever I could to capture what had caught my eye.
My reasons for carrying-out photography have broadened and become close to endless as every time I’m taking photos there is always a new reason, new opportunity that arises. However, there is one main reason that I love photography: where others find comfort and escape through things like reading, writing, sports, and more, I find comfort and am able to escape through photography. It makes me happy and helps me to clear my mind when I need to the most, photography is my safe place.
At the time I didn’t know that that first photo was going to be the start of this journey, but I am more than grateful that it was, and I am even more grateful that it is a journey that is nowhere near over.
Thank you for supporting me and my passion, if you have any inquiries or would like to know more, feel free to get in touch here.
